Material thickness: the cutting efficiency is inversely proportional to the material thickness. The thicker the material, the slower the cutting speed. For example, the cutting speed can reach 0.0025m/min when cutting a glass steel plate with a thickness of 3.55mm, while the cutting speed is 1.25m/min when cutting an acoustic board with a thickness of 19 mm..

Water pressure: Servo pump usually pressurizes water at a pressure higher than 2760bar to generate the energy required for cutting. The higher the water pressure, the stronger the cutting ability, which can improve the cutting efficiency to some extent.

Nozzle diameter: the nozzle diameter will affect the cutting speed. Generally, the smaller the nozzle, the higher the machining accuracy, but the material removal speed will decrease. If the polyethylene material is cut, the cutting speed is 0.0092m/min with a 0.05mm nozzle, and 0.0064m/min with a 0.075mm nozzle.

Generally speaking, the cutting speed of water jet cutting machine is between 0.1 and 3000 linear inches per minute. If cutting a thin die pad, the speed may reach several meters per minute, and for thick materials, the speed may drop to a few tens of meters per minute or even lower.
